Recent paintings by Jack Millard opens at the Hudson Opera House

"STORY LINES," an exhibition of recent paintings by Jack Millard opens at the Hudson Opera House (327 Warren St.) on August 23rd and runs to September 20th. The OPENING RECEPTION is on August 23rd from 6-8pm, with music provided by C. Ryder Cooley and refreshments.
"Story Lines" represents a new series of large paintings exploring the complex relationships between individual subjects. Combining a wide variety of styles and techniques, including portraiture, landscape, abstraction and explorations in color and form. "Story Lines" draws the viewer's attention to compelling settinmgs and to tensions between individuals. The paintings in this series are ambitious in scale, technical intricacy and psychological complexity, inviting viewers to contemplate (and complete) the narrative journeys of their subjects.
Columbia County artist Jack Millard lives and paints in Chatham, New York. He practiced architecture in New York City, working for Paul Rudolph and Peter Marino. Millard has previously shown his paintings at Carrie Haddad Gallery, Time,Space Limited and elsewhere. He designs chairs that are sold through Dennis Miller Associates in New York.
