"Nice to Meet You", Opening at Sloan Fine Art Tonight

Pieces in the show include:
-(One of the few drawings of the show) "Eyes" by Clem Coleman, rife with his signature weaving of visual and phonetic puns!
-David Humphrey's "Stump" in which organic forms are rendered to inhabit each other's symbolic spaces in curious ways that seem to form a bizarre conversation between beings and abyss.
-Julie Heffernan's "Study for Self-Portrait as Heap", wherein varied mark-making and lush forms shroud every inch of the figure's world, while she somehow seems to retain the ability to move freely within the space at any moment she pleases.
-Jennifer Coates' "Remainder", which combines atmospheric and graphic painting in a peculiarly joyous harmony.
-Catherine Howe's “Proserpina (Pinks)”, a vivid swarm of warm spaces full of motion and the tones you might see painted inside a gypsy caravan.
-John Jacobsmeyer's mysterious still life, "No Pudding"
... and so many more delights I wish I had time to name.

"Nine artists who have never shown at the gallery have been asked to participate and each invite two artists of their choice. Artist list includes Justin Amrhein, Matthew Bollinger, Scott Campbell, Dana Carlson, Anthony Castro, Charles Clary, Jennifer Coates, Clement Coleman, Elizabeth Cooper, Nicole Etienne, Roni Feldman, Micah Ganske, Jane Hamill, Julie Heffernan, Catherine Howe, David Humphrey, Hidenori Ishii, John Jacobsmeyer, Michael Kagan, Tricia Keightley, Max Presneill, Nicholas Rispoli, Colette Robbins, Jean-Pierre Roy, Didier William, Zachary Wollard and Sarah Zar"

Also of note, in the next room, Nathan Skiles, notoriously pun-weaving cuckoo clock maker will have a piece to view along with others in a show called "Amuse Bouche".
