THE NIGHT IS NIGH..For all you upstaters near the Albany region, tonight is an arts event not to be missed.
In downtown Albany's historic State Room, from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Once a premier function venue for Albany's rich and famous, featuring musicians like Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong, the ballroom in the former DeWitt Clinton Hotel at 142 State Street will swing again with modern day swells and patrons of the arts. Building on a rich tradition of fashion and art, this year's gala will be one of the most memorable in gallery history.
A spectacular theme highlighting surreal and eclectic elements of the early century will be interwoven into the entertainment and visual tapestry of the event. Guests will be encouraged to dress in vintage revival fashions, dance the night away and mingle with some of the most creative and distinguished people in the area. ... Tickets are $100 per person and include heavy hors d'oeuvres, open bar and an evening of unparalled entertainment, all for an important cause! "
Shayfer James will be performing in this historic venue that once featured musical appearances by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong.
